WILLS, TRUSTS, PROBATE
Wills and Probate is a constantly evolving area of law, affected by ever-changing legislation and taxation. At Hine & Associates we keep up to date. We offer a full range of services, taking a professional, friendly approach, delivering sound advice and value for money without compromising on quality
WILLS
- Did you know that if you die leaving no Will, your assets pass according to the strict intestacy law, which may leave your loved ones short?
- Did you realise that a poorly drafted Will may be wholly or partly ineffective?
- Are you aware that a Will can be made for a person who lacks the capacity to do it for themselves by way of a “Statutory Will”?
People often put off making their Will but to do so can have devastating consequences in the event of an unexpected death. Drafting a Will requires a working knowledge of current legislation and expertise in drafting. Instructing us to do this for you can mean that you avoid innumerable potential pitfalls and we strive to keep the Will making process as simple and painless as possible.
In these days of complex family arrangements it is essential that you receive advice that addresses your individual needs and allows you to make fully informed choices about your Will. We are able to provide this advice, and to tailor your Will to allow you to achieve exactly what you want with your assets.
Home visits are available if required.
PROBATE
A death in the family is a devastating event. At Hine & Associates we can help you through this difficult time and assist with the legal formalities needed to ensure that property ownership and finances are sorted out as efficiently and quickly as possible.
Up to two years after a person’s death, whether they left a Will or not, a deed of variation can be used to vary the distribution of their assets (effectively re-writing the Will or avoiding the intestacy rules), which can reduce the Inheritance Tax liability on the estate or simply achieve a more desirable result.
We offer a full range of services supporting executors and trustees and carrying out estate administration.
